Film Review: BLACK SWAN
Aronofsky’s psychological thriller should not be missed by moviegoers. The raw and gritty nature of this movie is only complemented by every single cut, every single angle, and even every single sound. Hell, even the film stock complements the sense of “real” that Aronofsky must have been going for. Completely successful in it’s execution, Darren Aronofsky, Mark Heyman(screenplay) and Andres Heinz(screenplay) created a story that is both haunting, and beautiful, with each character never straying from their “truth.” Portman’s performance is sure to get an Oscar nod, with her taking on a very different role that blows away an already stellar career.
Less reliant on his usual visual flair, the film never really leaves Portman’s side. Thus thoroughly engrossing it’s audience in her character.
I loved this movie, and for the sake of all the personal reviews, and yes, they are my opinion, I will try to keep them short, to the point, and without spoilers.
I can say that there are many people that would not appreciate this film. I think this goes without saying but if you loved Aronofsky’s other films, you will undoubtedly love this one.
